A side-charging upper receiver on an AR-15 offers several benefits over the traditional rear-charging handle design:
1. Easier Manipulation
The side charging handle allows for quicker and easier operation, especially when mounted with optics. You can manipulate the bolt without having to reach underneath or around the optic, which can be cumbersome with the standard rear charging handle. Also, for right handed shooters lying in the prone, clearing jams or manipulating the charging handle is faster and much easier.
2. Enhanced Ergonomics
With a side-charging receiver, the user doesn’t have to break cheek weld or shift position to manipulate the charging handle. This is beneficial in both precision shooting and tactical scenarios where maintaining your shooting stance is critical.
3. Easier Clearing of Malfunctions
With a side-charging upper, clearing malfunctions such as double feeds or stove-pipes is often faster. You can maintain control of the rifle with your dominant hand while using your support hand to quickly cycle the bolt or clear the jam.

IMPORTANT!! You must use the supplied G4 Enhanced Cam Pin in the G4 Side Charging Uppers! The Cam Pin comes with the upper receiver. This means that you can use your favorite BCG by simply changing the cam pin to the correct Gibbz supplied G4 Enhanced Cam Pin.
Use of the Standard Cam Pin will cause the Bolt Carrier Group to lock up in the G4 Upper Receiver and be VERY difficult to remove and possibly damage the Upper Receiver.
