Product Summary

When hunting the woods and clearings, you need a bullet that handles any situation. Power-Shok provides you with consistent and proven performance without a high-dollar price tag. It’s an great all-around choice for medium to large-game. The Power-Shok bullet is built with an exclusive hot core process that eliminates the lead oxide layer that can cause core slippage. In addition the unique jacket profile and fluted tip ensures reliable expansion over a wide velocity range.

The soft point is a proven performer on small game and thin-skinned medium game. It has an aerodynamic tip for a flat trajectory. The exposed soft point expands rapidly for hard hits, even as velocity slows at longer ranges.

Caliber Dictionary

The Below Information Has Been Provided From Our Gun Caliber Dictionary And Is Meant For Informational Purposes Only. It Is Not Intended to Describe The Unique Specifications For This Ammunition. The 270 WSM(Winchester Short Magnum) was introduced in 2001 along with the 7mm WSM as the second and thirds members of Winchester’s family of short magnums. It uses short (2.10-inch) case suitable for housing in a short bolt action, and with its short, fat .555-inch base diameter) unbelted case it is an accurate and efficient cartridge. With 130-grain bullets at 3300 feet per second and 150-grain bullets at 3150 it is faster than the 270 Winchester (and delivers more energy)…but but not quite as fast as the 270 Weatherby Magnum. Excellent for deer and mountain game and suitable for elk, it has a significant following and is probably the second-most popular of the several short magnums (after the 300 Winchester Short Magnum). Several manufacturers have chambered rifles, and ammunition is available from multiple sources. Gunwriter Craig Boddington has written that it is “the most useful of the new group of short magnum cartridges.” — Craig Boddington
