The upper is built off of the LMT standard forged A4receiver withM4 feed ramps. The barrel is mil-spec machine gun grade chrome-molyvanadium material, M4 profile,light government contour, 5.56mmchamber and bore, 1/7 twist ratio and 1/2×28 threaded barrel andchromelined for corrosion and wear resistance. All barrels are magneticparticle tested, Cryogenically treated for enhanced accuracy, easiercleaning and longer life, and put to the test with 50% overload Proofround without incident failure or flaw “because failure is not anoption”. Utilizing fully implemented Quality Assurance methods andprocedures toensure the highest quality and reliability of products.LMT is ISO9001:2000 Certified and MADE IN USA.

What is Magnetic ParticleInspection (MPI) and High Pressure Testing(HPT)?
The barrels areHPT (High Pressure Testing) tested whichis aprocess wherein a proofload rated at 70,000 psi (far exceedingthepressure of a normalround) is fired trough the barrel. The barrelisthen tested with anon-destructive process called MPI (MagneticParticleInspection). MPI is a process that utilizes magnetic powderto detect any flaws inthe barrel extension and barrel fromthe proofload. Manymanufacturers only MPI a couple rifles a batch. EVERY LMT barrel is MPtested and engraved as such.

Can you put .223 Remington ammo in a 5.56 upper?
Yes, you can put .223 into a 5.56 chambered upper, but NOT the other way around due to pressure related issues with slight variations in the chamber (5.56 are slightly longer). Do NOT purchase a rifle chambered in .223 if you EVER plan on shooting anymilitary NATO 5.56 ammo, which is the most common, leastexpensive and most widely used AR15 cartridge available in all theworld. The problem is NATO cartridges have bullets that willbecome jammed into the rifling of a SAAMI .223 chambering (thethroat is too short). This is VERY DANGEROUS,for a lot of reasons. For best accuracy, 5.56 is recommended but .223 will shoot fine and safely.
