History
Manufactured in France (to be a less expensive alternative to the excellent but very costly Manurhin MR73 revolver), the MR88 model originally appeared in 1979 as the F-1 Special Police Revolver for use by various French law enforcement organizations. The MR88 revolvers were built with Ruger-style frames and lockwork, using French-made cylinders and barrels. The cold hammer-forged barrel and formed rifling process, vastly improved internals (using wheels instead of just lubrication where metal rubs on metal).
