R1 Tactical LVR-15 Free Float M-LOK Rail System
Redcon1 Tactical introduces the Low Vis Rail 15″ Free Float Handguard with a low profile, one-body design for reduced weight and advanced ergonomics for comfort and enhanced performance. The Magpul M-LOK system at 12, 3, 6, and 9 o’clock positions allow users to customize the handguard with direct mount accessories. Picatinny slots have been added to the rear and front of the handguard for forward-positioning of optic and front sights. The handguard is constructed of 6061-T6 aluminum with an overall weight of 10.5 oz and an internal diameter of 1.375″. Quick Detach Swivel Sockets positioned on the front and rear of the handguard at the 3, 6, 9 o’clock positions for custom QD Sling configuration.

Note: Designed to fit Mil-Spec forged and billet upper receivers. Not compatible with most gas piston systems.

Installation:
– Required Tools: Open-end or crescent wrench may be used. 27mm crowfoot wrench if applicable.
– Barrel Nut Torque Specifications: Recommended 35-40 ft/lb, not to exceed 80 ft/lb.
– The Mil-Spec tightening technique is as follows: Torque to 35-40 ft/lb. Loosen. Torque again to 35-40 ft/lb. Loosen again. Torque past 35-40 ft/lb, until the next hole in the barrel nut aligns with the cutouts on the LVR handguard, but do not exceed 80 ft/lb.
– Step 1: Apply some anti-seize grease to the threads of your upper receiver.
– Step 2: Insert barrel into your upper receiver.
– Step 3: Recommended to start with 2x .007″ shims inside of the barrel nut to properly center the vertical alignment of the barrel nut screw holes with the cutouts of the LVR.
– Step 4: Check your alignment. Torque the barrel nut onto your receiver. Remove the barrel nut and re-torque to 35-40 ft/lb. Repeat three times.
– Step 4: Mark the position of the barrel nut to determine the proper combination of shims to correctly align the holes.
1x .001″ shim moves the barrel nut counterclockwise approximately 0.055″
1x .003″ shim moves the barrel nut counterclockwise approximately 0.183″
1x .007″ shim moves the barrel nut counterclockwise approximately 0.5″
– Step 5: Remove barrel nut and add the appropriate number of shims.
– Step 6: Repeat Step 4 to properly time your barrel nut as shims are added or removed.
– Step 7: Once barrel nut is properly timed, then you are ready to install your LVR handguard.
– Step 8: Apply a small drop of the provided Vibra-Tite VC-3 or other thread lockers to each of the (6) Torx screws, then torque each screw to 20 ft/lb in an alternating pattern.
