Voodoo Innovations VDI Ported Barrel for Glock 17 9MM Melonite
The VooVoo Innovations for Glock 17 9MM Match Grade Barrel is designed as an improved drop-in fit barrel for the Glock 17. The VDI 17 Barrel is machined to tighter fitment tolerances to increase accuracy potential without the need of gunsmith fitting. The barrel features Match chambering, Match Grade Rifling to allow the use of any 9MM projectile (not just jacketed bullets), machined from 416R stainless steel, and Finished in Voodoo Innovations LifeCoat process.

Current Barrels Disadvantages:
Stainless steel barrels arewell known for highervelocities and better accuracy because the borehas been cut true intothe steel. This cut does not leave any addedimperfections so the roundhas less resistance as it travels down thebarrel. This quality doescome at a high price. Most stainless steelbarrels cost almost twicewhat a chrome lined barrel cost, whichprices them out of the market formost shooters. Also, while they havecorrosive resistant properties bynature, they are not completelycorrosive resistant and can corrodeovertime. They are the choice formost high end manufacturers andshootersbut they are not a viableoption for every shooter.
Voodoo Advantage:
Ourbarrels are finished with our proprietary QPQ Melonite processinside and out. Unlike hard chrome and magnesium phosphate, Meloniteis a molecular bonding process with the metal. It allows thechemicals to seep down below the surface area of the metal, insteadof just adding a top layer. This means that the barrel can be cut to atrue rifle bore while maintaining complete corrosion resistance andvirtually no wear. It also means that the protection offered is notjust a thin layer on top of the material but actually penetrateslayers deep ensuring thatitdoes not wear off. Now you have the velocities of a stainless steel true rifle bore with complete protection!
