DESCRIPTION:

Small Knurled Monopod for picatinny rail mounting on stocks such as the Magpul PRS, Luth-AR MBA, etc. provides excellent rear stability in a high density heat resistant and lightweight pod. Monopod is foldable to take up less space. Folded Height 1.2″ (30mm). Example pic mounted to LuthAR MBA stock. Unscrew the foot assembly and the two adjustment wheels to fold/unfold. One wheel screws against the picatinny block to lock folding lateral movement. Second wheel locks the height of the monopod. Quick and easy installation, just slide it on the picatinny rail. Lock it with the screw provided. Constructed from Carbon Fiber Reinforced PETG Polymer to improve impact resistance. Ultra strong with superior heat resistance and light-weight at only 3.3oz! This Carbon Fiber Reinforced material is stronger and costs more than commonly used fiberglass reinforced polymers that most firearm accessory manufacturers use. Height Range: 3.1″ to 4.25″ (80mm to maximum 108mm). Step increase of ~1mm per turn. Min: 80mm Max: 108mm.

What is Carbon Fiber PETG?

This part is made of High Density and Ultra High Resistance Carbon Fiber PETG. Carbon Fiber PETG has small Carbon Fibers blended into it to strengthen and enhance the material. This makes it stronger than normal PETG which is already quite strong. PETG parts have high heat resistance with warping or other heat damage not occurring until temps reach over 330 degrees F and the melting point is 500 degrees F! We take pride in the quality of our products and ensure that all products meet our high quality standards.

Why is Carbon Fiber PETG better than Fiberglass reinforced polymer?

STRONGER. Carbon fiber is more than 20% stronger than the best fiberglass. Carbon fiber also has a strength to weight ratio that is almost twice that of fiberglass.

STIFFER. Carbon fiber is much less flexible than fiberglass and is the preferred material for heavy duty applications in which resistance to impact and deformation is essential.  Carbon fiber’s tensile strength is 4 times fiberglass.

LOWER WEIGHT. Compared to metals like steel and aluminum, both carbon fiber and fiberglass materials are much lighter in weight while offering similar strength. When you’re lugging around a heavy weapon, cutting weight where possible is highly desireable and carbon fiber weighs about 15% less than fiberglass composites. 

THERMAL EXPANSION. Carbon fibers offer superior thermal expansion coefficient properties. Carbon fiber materials don’t contract in cold temps like fiberglass products may. So when extreme heat or cold climates are a factor, carbon fiber is the better option.

CORROSION RESISTANCE. Carbon Fiber PETG material is highly resistant to corrosion, acids or chemical abrasions. 

COST. Fiberglass reinforced polymers are more cost-effective to manufacture as compared to Carbon Fiber PETG and is often used for production cost savings. We don’t skimp and offer a better Carbon Fiber Reinforced PETG product even though it costs more to make!
