Winchester’s Silverado 40 Gun Safe (S-5940-40) is designed for those that have up to 48 long guns they need to protect and want both burglar and fire protection. This gun safe has a proven 2-hour fire rating, tested at outside temperatures up to 1400 degrees F. The double-layer Palusol Heat expanding door seal expands to over 6 times its size when subjected to heat which creates a barrier against heat and smoke. There is UL-rated fireboard protection in the ceiling, walls, and door. Winchester includes a Lifetime-Free Replacement Guarantee in the event of a fire.

This stands for Residential Security Container. Plus it exceeds the California Department of Justice requirements. This is due to the solid 10 gauge body formed with robotic continuous welds. Plus a drill-resistant hard plate, auxiliary re-locker, pry-resistant recessed door, reinforced return door jamb, titanium disk, and the 3-way boltwork. The 3-way boltwork has 14 steel locking bolts, 1.5″ in diameter each. There are also 6 deadbolts as well for pry resistance. Winchester includes pre-drilled anchor holes to bolt down the safe to prevent tipping for pry leverage or removal of the safe by thieves.
